The Mastercard Payment Networks team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. You will help build and maintain application features and services with a focus on code quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain application features and services with focus on code quality and reliability
Write backend code using Java (17+), applying core Object-Oriented principles and basic design patterns
Contribute to development of microservices and APIs using frameworks such as Spring Boot
Implement features based on defined requirements and solution designs, with guidance from senior engineers
Participate in development within a CI/CD-enabled environment
Work with data persistence technologies such as RDBMS and NoSQL like Cassandra
Follow established coding standards, testing practices, and quality gates
Debug issues and contribute to defect resolution and system stability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support smooth project delivery
Requirements
6 months to 1 year of overall career experience into Software Engineering in Java Full Stack
Passion for software engineering with foundational Full Stack or Backend development skills
Good understanding of Java and Spring Boot fundamentals
Basic awareness of microservices and event-driven architecture concepts
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and version control tools
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to real-time or online systems development
Knowledge of databases including RDBMS and Cassandra
Exposure to cloud platforms such as PCF and digital-native architectures
