The Digital Software Engineer Senior Analyst shapes, builds, and governs high-impact API solutions as a Senior Systems Engineer, sitting at the intersection of hands-on development and API design leadership within Citi's Digital Engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design and configure API proxies on Google Apigee, including proxy configurations, flow definitions, route rules, and target endpoint setup.
Define and maintain Apigee policies including traffic management, mediation, and security policies.
Implement OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect authorization flows natively within Apigee.
Configure and manage Apigee environments, API products, developer portals, and monetization configurations.
Lead the design and specification of RESTful APIs, producing OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and API contracts.
Apply Financial-grade API security profiles in API design specifications and Apigee proxy configurations.
Define and enforce API design standards and governance guidelines for products and proxies.
Mentor and upskill junior engineers through code reviews, proxy design walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Requirements
8 to 10 years of experience in product development, engineering, or technology product management.
3 plus years of hands-on experience designing and configuring APIs on Google Apigee.
Advanced expertise in RESTful API design and architecture, OpenAPI 3.x specification authoring, and enterprise integration patterns.
Deep knowledge of API security and identity standards including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and FAPI.
Strong understanding of Open Banking regulations and global data privacy frameworks.
Skilled in vendor and partner management.
Hands-on delivery in Agile environments applying Scrum and Kanban practices.
