Commonwealth Bank's Chief AI Office drives the bank's AI strategy, platforms, governance, and capabilities. The Knowledge Management domain creates the cognitive foundation by transforming business knowledge into trusted, governed, and reusable knowledge products.
Key Responsibilities
Own the solution architecture and technical design of core enterprise knowledge and AI/ML platform capabilities, including ingestion, enrichment, knowledge graph, retrieval, APIs, integrations, and lifecycle management.
Lead the architecture and development of scalable, production-grade AI/ML platforms and reusable capabilities supporting enterprise AI, knowledge management, retrieval, and GenAI use cases.
Lead the design and evolution of the enterprise ontology, semantic model, taxonomy, and metadata standards to create consistent knowledge across business domains.
Architect and deliver high-quality, AI-ready knowledge products that transform unstructured business knowledge into trusted, governed, and reusable assets.
Design and build governance and guardrail controls into the platform, including provenance, lineage, policy-aware access, classification, permissions, and auditability.
Lead integration of the knowledge platform with LLM gateways, agent frameworks, and evaluation services to support safe RAG, GraphRAG, and agentic AI use cases.
Establish engineering best practices, reusable architecture patterns, quality standards, and conduct design and code reviews for critical components.
Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and work with product owners and platform teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Requirements
10+ years of strong hands-on experience in Python development, building enterprise-grade platforms, applications, APIs, data pipelines, and AI/ML solutions.
Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to architect and develop scalable, reliable, secure, and reusable platform components.
Strong hands-on experience and comfort with enterprise-scale platform development in the AI/ML space.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience in Knowledge Management, ontology development, knowledge graphs, semantic modelling, taxonomy, and metadata management.
Strong experience in unstructured data processing, document understanding, information extraction, entity resolution, and knowledge enrichment pipelines.
Hands-on expertise in RAG, GraphRAG, vector databases, search technologies, and retrieval optimisation for AI-powered knowledge systems.
