The Head of AWS Engineering at Novartis is accountable for defining, building, and evolving Novartis' AWS-based cloud platforms and engineering capabilities. The role leads the engineering strategy, architecture realization, and platform roadmap to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant services.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the AWS platform engineering strategy and roadmap translating enterprise priorities into a multi-year plan.
Lead end-to-end engineering and lifecycle management of cloud platforms ensuring services are secure, scalable, and resilient.
Establish operating models and engineering standards including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and SRE.
Own the platform product roadmap, prioritize investments, and ensure delivery within agreed funding.
Drive modernization and simplification of the AWS environment to reduce technical debt and accelerate cloud-native adoption.
Lead the development of AI-enabled cloud engineering capabilities using automation and intelligent developer tooling.
Ensure security and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout the platform lifecycle partnering with Cybersecurity and Risk.
Provide leadership for cloud financial management and cost optimization to drive FinOps outcomes.
