We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Power Transformer Mechanical Designer having experience of 3-5 years to join our team at GE Vernova. The ideal candidate will have experience in the mechanical design of power transformers, including internal connections design, internal layouts, tank and external designs, and customer-specific drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components for power transformers, including internal connections, internal layouts, and tank/external designs
Create detailed customer-specific drawings as per requirements and specifications
Work closely with electrical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and timely delivery
Ensure designs adhere to national and international standards such as IS, CEA, IEC, IEEE, and ISO
Use 3D CAD tools primarily Inventor and Creo to create accurate and efficient mechanical designs
Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOM preparation and documentation using PDM Software
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proven experience in designing mechanical components for power transformers with a focus on internal connections and layouts
Strong proficiency in using 3D CAD tools such as Inventor or Creo
Understanding of IS, CEA, IEC, IEEE, ISO standards
Proficiency in English is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in transformer design for high-voltage applications
Familiarity with transformer testing and validation processes
Knowledge of structural analysis software for transformer components
