The Cisco Wireless Feature & System Engineering team builds end-to-end wireless capabilities across access points, controllers, and cloud-managed platforms. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will own wireless features from implementation through validation and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and integrate wireless features across AP, controller, and management layers.
Write and maintain software in C/C++ and Python.
Design and execute test plans, and develop automation for feature validation.
Analyze logs, packet traces, and system behavior to debug issues.
Set up and use lab environments for testing wireless scenarios.
Requirements
MS with 0-2 years or BS with 1-3 years of experience.
Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and Wi-Fi (802.11 basics).
Experience or strong interest in testing, automation, and system validation.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to wireless controllers or cloud-managed networking systems.
Experience with tools like Wireshark and familiarity with WPA2/WPA3 security.
