π Reliable Data Pipelines Start With Good Engineering Practices
Building batch and streaming pipelines at Fintrail has taught me that moving data is only one part of the job.
The real challenge is making sure the data is reliable, tested, and trusted.
A few practices I believe make a real difference:
πΉ dbt β for clean, modular, maintainable transformations
πΉ Data contracts β to keep expectations clear between data producers and consumers
πΉ SQL testing β to catch issues before they reach dashboards and business decisions
πΉ Airflow β to orchestrate pipelines and keep workflows running smoothly
Because a pipeline that runs successfully isn't always a pipeline that delivers the right data.
And when the workweek is all about Airflow DAGs, weekends are for cricket! π
What's one data engineering practice you never compromise on?
