Your Android app doesn't need more features. It might need less work.

Your Android app doesn't need more features. It might need less work.
We often focus on adding new features, improving UI, and shipping faster.
But sometimes the biggest improvement comes from removing unnecessary work.
A few things I pay attention to when optimizing Android apps:
App startup: Are we initializing everything before the user even needs it?
Jetpack Compose: Are unnecessary recompositions affecting the UI?
App size: Are we shipping unused resources and dependencies?
Memory usage: Are we keeping objects alive longer than necessary?
Network calls: Can we cache data and avoid redundant requests?
The interesting part is that performance isn't just about making an app faster.
It's about making the experience feel effortless.
A well-optimized app is one where users notice the experience, not the engineering effort behind it.
Android developers, what's the first thing you investigate when an app starts feeling slow?
