What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. They let the site remember a session, keep a request secure, or save a setting. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can remember information on your device without using a cookie.
How workOwon Uses Cookies
workOwon uses cookies to keep your account signed in, protect the session, and remember the cookie choice you make on this site. workOwon does not use cookies to advertise to you, and it does not load analytics or marketing tags before you agree to those categories.
This policy covers the website. It works together with the Privacy Policy, which describes the account and profile information workOwon processes.
Types of Cookies We Use
Cookies are grouped so you can accept everything, reject optional cookies, or choose category by category. Essential cookies stay on because the product cannot sign you in without them.
| Cookie Category | Purpose | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Authentication, security and core functionality | Yes |
| Functional | Preferences and settings | No |
| Analytics | Understanding website usage | No |
| Marketing | Advertising and marketing measurement | No |
Essential Cookies
These cookies are required for login, session refresh, and basic security. You cannot turn them off from Cookie Settings. Signing out clears the session cookies. They do not store your password.
| Cookie | Purpose |
|---|---|
| access_token | Keeps you signed in for the current session. HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it. |
| refresh_token | Renews the session when the access cookie expires. HttpOnly. |
| auth_session | Tells the site that a session exists without exposing the access token. |
| access_token_expires_at | Stores when the access cookie should be refreshed. |
| workowon_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie category choices and the time you saved them. It does not include your name, email, or account id. |
Functional Cookies
Functional cookies are optional. workOwon does not currently set a separate functional cookie. Appearance and language choices are saved in local storage on your device so the interface can stay consistent. That storage is not a cookie and is not used for advertising.
If you turn Functional cookies off, workOwon will not set optional functional cookies. Your saved choice is recorded in workowon_cookie_consent.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies are optional. workOwon does not set analytics cookies and does not load a website analytics script. Job and company statistics shown to employers are requested from your signed-in account. They are not browser tracking cookies.
If an analytics script is added later, it will load only after you allow Analytics cookies.
Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies are optional. workOwon does not load advertising, retargeting, or marketing measurement scripts. If a marketing script is added later, it will load only after you allow Marketing cookies.
Third-Party Cookies
workOwon does not embed Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, or similar tags.
If you choose Sign in with Google, Google’s sign-in service runs on the login and signup pages so you can authenticate. That service may set its own cookies as part of sign-in. workOwon does not control those cookies and does not use them for advertising on workOwon.
How to Manage Cookies
On your first visit, choose Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Manage Preferences. After you save a choice, the banner stays hidden until you open Cookie Settings again.
You can change Functional, Analytics, and Marketing cookies at any time. Essential cookies remain on.
You can also remove cookies from your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may stop login from working until you allow them again.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
If workOwon starts using a new optional cookie or a new third-party tag, this page will be updated and, where the law requires a new choice, the cookie banner will ask again.
